Primary 5-a-sides

S.F.C. Primary 5-a-side tournament scheduled for Saturday morning at Rephad school could be a victim of the weather if the local forecast is correct. Ever the optimists, a decision will be taken between 9.30-10a.m. If this was left to the kids it would definitely go ahead, fingers crossed.

Under-15s

A wee bit of revenge against Arbroath under-15s with the Blues Boys winning 3-1. Considering that they had to play almost half the game with 10 men after their goalie was sent off for what seemed a brave save on the edge of the penalty box, they hung on for a deserved victory. Well done boys.

Stranraer Athletic v Stranraer Reserves

Very competive and all action match played at the Academy last night, both teams showed their fitness and committment in what was a very enjoyable game. The final result was 0-0 thanks to good goalkeeping and excellent work by the defenses coping with the lively forward lines. A draw was a fair result and it was great to see as many people (100 approx.) out spectating on a night when so many alternatives were readily available.

Primary 5-a-sides

15 teams took part in a primary school 5-a-side event which was held on Saturday morning at Rephad School. The weather was absolutely horrendous with high winds and driving rain blowing across the pitches, apparently nothing could deter these kids from playing football. Teams plus rolling subs. accounted for approx. 100 players taking part, congratulations to all the teams for their valiant efforts and thanks to the considerable number of family and friends who turned out to add their support. These matches are organised to give the primary school coaches the opportunity to keep an eye on the progress of players who can fill vacancies in the Stranraer F.C. under-13 squad.

Fives Tournament

12 teams from local primary schools took part in a 5-a-side tournament at Rephad School on Saturday morning. Semi-finalists were Belmont A against Belmont B and Sandhead V Park A. Winners of the tournament were Park A, who beat Belmont A in the final. Everyone taking part as well as parents and friends who attended appeared to enjoy the competition.
